Charles J. (Chuck) Newman CLU

Charles J. (Chuck) Newman CLU, is President and Managing Partner of Charles
Newman Co., an independent employee benefits brokerage celebrating its 30 th
year in business and serving more than 200 companies. Charles Newman Co. is
the Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce’s 2021 Business of the Year.
A 1983 graduate of Colgate University, Chuck began his insurance career as an
agent of Connecticut Mutual Life and soon formed Charles Newman Co. The
company moved to Peekskill in 2017 where Chuck is the 3 rd generation of the
Newman family to own a business.
Chuck is a past president of the Lakeland Education Foundation Inc.. He is also a
past president of The First Hebrew Congregation of Peekskill and served on the
Board of Trustees of Peekskill’s Paramount Center for the Arts. Chuck is a
member of the Peekskill Yacht Club and serves on the Board of Trustees of the
Hudson Valley Gateway Chamber of Commerce, The Peekskill Arts Center and
Volunteer New York.
Chuck currently volunteers as a Trail Maintainer for the New York, New Jersey Trail
Conference, as a Graduation Coach for Yonkers Partners in Education (where he is
mentoring a high school sophomore until graduation) and he was recently
recruited by Westchester County Economic Development’s “Launch 1000”
program to serve as a volunteer mentor for more than a half dozen start-up
entrepreneurs.
Chuck was honored by the Westchester County Bar Foundation in November
2017 for his years of service. He also perpetually fundraises for research to find a
cure for Polycystic Kidney Disease which affects his entire family.

Ilana Arbeit

Ilana Arbeit

Ilana Arbeit is the Benefits Practice Vice President and a partner at The Charles J.
Newman Co., LLC where she develops comprehensive employee benefit plans for
both small and large group clients. Ilana’s ability to help her clients identify
challenges and create solutions makes her an integral part of the firm’s strategic
planning process.
Ilana has worked in various facets of employee benefits. Beginning her career at a
mid-sized group insurance brokerage in 2001, she moved to Fiduciary Intermediary
LTD (FILCO), a General Agency in 2005. As FILCO’s Sales Executive and NY Sales
Manager, Ilana was tasked with assisting brokers to construct, maintain and service
all aspects of their customers’ employee benefits.
Ilana received her BA from Queens College where she majored in Media Studies. She
currently serves as President on the board of the New York State Association of
Health Underwriters (NYAHU) and previously served on the New York Metro
chapter’s board. Ilana is the treasurer of Shake It Out, a non-profit dedicated to
empowering at-risk youth through creativity and theater. Ilana has been the
recipient of several awards including the prestigious NY Metro Association of Health
Underwriter’s Outstanding Service Award and Is a graduate of Leadership
Westchester, class of 2021.

David Arbeit

David Arbeit

David Arbeit is the Client Services Vice President at Charles Newman Co. He works with business owners, executives, HR managers and staff to implement and maintain group insurance policies.

Before joining Charles Newman Co. David worked as a General Agent Sales Representative at Fiduciary Intermediary (FILCO). As a benefits specialist, David delivered a unique approach and a wide range of services to Clients, Insurance Brokers, and Individuals to help maximize their insurance programs and benefits.

Prior to joining FILCO, David was a Client Services Director at an insurance brokerage in Long Island, NY. He oversaw day-to-day management and maintenance of group insurance plans, resolved service issues, and implemented and renewed client insurance policies. David drew on his 5 years of experience as an account executive at HealthPass New York, a nonprofit, private insurance exchange.

At HealthPass New York David was tasked with assisting Brokers and General Agents in maximizing their sales, income and overall satisfaction with the HealthPass products. David actively participated in all aspects of the sale and maintenance of all insurance programs offered through the HealthPass platforms.

David attended CUNY Brooklyn College where he majored in Film Production, and now lives in the Upper East Side neighborhood of Manhattan, with his wife and daughter. David sits on the board of the New York Metro Association of Health Underwriters, as the Events Co-Chair.

Carol Landzberg

Carol Landzberg

Carol Landzberg is a licensed life and health insurance broker and has been working as a Case Manager for Charles Newman Co. since 1996. As the business has grown, her role expanded to encompass new business processing, small and mid-sized group renewal processing, and customer service for group health insurance and employee benefits plans.

Currently, Carol manages new business processing, as well as customer service for Individual Life, Disability and Long Term Care insurance policies.

Carol received her BA in history from Trinity College in Hartford, CT in 1983 and has been an ACE Certified Group exercise instructor for the last 30 years teaching a variety of classes at a local health club.
